Ketchikan Gateway Borough – Bus Shelters: 2012 – 2013

Client: Ketchikan Borough Contact: Kyan Reevemarble-const

Marble Construction completed the design/build project for 6 area wide bus shelters and featured work by local business Millard Architects, Tongass Forest Enterprises, Alcan Forest Products, Salvage Divas, and R&M Engineering-Ketchikan. The project was so well received, 3 additional shelters were added for 2013. The project utilized Alaskan Yellow Cedar harvested by Alcan Forest Products and sawn by Tongass Forest Enterprises in their Ward Cove facility. The bus shelters were pre-assembled in Ward Cove under a supply contract which allowed much of the work to be completed without the required State of Alaska prevailing wages.
