The Saxman Seaport roof project is a great example of Marbles ability to design and build complex projects with tight budgets. Marble’s project superintendent and architect Stephen Peters worked very closely with the State Fire Marshall to design a building renovation that did not require the installation of a fire sprinkler system in the new roof assembly. Using a combination of fire draft stop walls and fire proof wood trusses, Marble was able to gain approval from the State Fire Marshall and thus delete the expensive sprinklers. This design approval allowed the project to stay within the limits of the grant agreement and move forward.
